doctor's appointment - 6 month check-up

i went to my monthly pre-natal appointment last week. the doctor says everything is fine with attie... we listened to her heart beat through a doppler machine. the heartbeat was healthy, strong and really fast! i am planning to fly out to Louisiana for andrew's (anselm's brother) wedding this week, and the doctor said it was OK to travel. i just have to remember to drink lots of water and get up often to walk around. one thing i hate about being pregnant and traveling is having to use the bathrooms on the plane. it's bad enough when you have to use that tiny little stall normally, imagine trying to maneuver your way around with 25 extra pounds strapped to your belly! (by the way, that's how much weight i've gained so far)...

over the weekend, i got my blood drawn for a glucose screening test to see if i have gestational diabetes. i am praying that i don't because i don't know what i would do if i wasn't able to have pumpkin pie until attie is born... the results should come back by the end of this week, so i guess i have a few more days to indulge and eat as much chocolate as i want before the doctor says it's no more for me!

anyway, here's an update on little attie: she is getting more and more active lately - kicking and moving several times a day, especially before and after meals. if you are patient and look closely, you can see my belly pop up a little once in a while when she is kicking hard, or if you place your hand over my belly, you can feel the little bumps from the outside too. she mostly likes to hang out on the right side of my belly, it's pretty funny... i still can't believe i am already 28 weeks pregnant - less than 3 months to go and she'll be here!

if your dr. say you're ok, which i'm sure you'll be, i will make the pumpkin pie for you and attie. oh and anselm too.

i am sure you don't have diabetes...that would suck! it was nice to see you again this weekend - even if it was for 10 minutes!

That walking stork counter is totally cool, but I dunno about that rotating fetus thing. It's actually creeping me out a bit.
