finally, an update!

it's been a long time since i've blogged (again) and of course lots of things have happened! attie is now 2 years and 2 months old today and she's grown up to be a cute little talkative and very active toddler. she loves to run around and play, she has a ton of energy, and she is constantly asking questions and learning about everything around her. the biggest change she has accomplished lately is that is she is now officially potty trained! attie has been going poo in the toilet ever since she was less than 1 year old, however she would pee in her diaper whenever she needed to throughout the day. about a month ago, i bought her some hello kitty underwear and introduced her to them in an attempt to get her to pee in the toilet and not wear a diaper anymore. she had so many accidents i decided she was not ready yet. she would inform me that she needed to go potty, but her pants were already wet. i put her back into her diapers and thought i'd try again in a few months. all of a sudden this week, she started telling me BEFORE she needed to go and i would rush to put her on the toilet and she would go pee every time! this has been going on for the past 4 days now and i am so excited to report i think she is officially potty trained at 2 years and 2 months old. she still wears a diaper during her naps and overnight, but i think this is a great start!

in other news, i am very pregnant with baby girl number 2 just around the corner. i am due on april 2, just under 2 weeks away! we are converting our current guest room in to her new nursery. so far the closet is complete and we moved the changing station into the nursery, but we are going to wait until she is about 3 months old to take apart attie's old crib and move it into her new room. we will also be moving the rocker in there as soon as she arrives so i can sit in there during the around-the-clock feedings.

i am excited for her to join our family but i am also enjoying the last few weeks of this nice routine we've managed to fall into. everyday, attie wakes up between 7:00 -8:00 am, we have breakfast at home with daddy, then around 10:00 we try to go on a playdate of some sort, whether it's to the park or her baby gym (MyGym) or a get together at a friend's house. we usually make it home around noon for lunch and attie goes down for a nap by 1:00 pm. she is a very good napper and can usually sleep for 2-3 hours. that's when i get a nice break and i can either nap, clean the house, surf the web, or do some work on the computer. when she wakes up around 4:00 we have a small snack, and then we play around the house or go out to run errands until dinner at 6:30-7:00. we try to start her bedtime routine by 8:00 which includes going potty 1 last time, taking a bath, brushing her teeth, reading a few books, then she goes into her crib while we sing her a few songs. she is usually down by 9:00 for the evening. i wonder how much will stay the same once the little one arrives.

so that's my update for now. i'll post some pictures soon of what attie looks like now with her hair getting longer, and my growing belly too.
