Attie's 8 month update - growling, balancing, & learning to walk.

Attie is really growing up so fast... she is crawling all over the house, exploring every nook & cranny. Although she is not walking yet, it is probably going to be soon! She pulls herself up every chance she gets and she is already starting to balance on her own without any support. I was able to capture her standing for a few seconds here & there while playing. To help with her walking, I got her a new shopping cart toy that has wheels so she can push it around the house. She's already getting the hang of it and she seems to love all the little grocery items that came with the cart - click on the picture to view video:

Another new thing she keeps doing lately is making a scary monster sound that's like a growl coming from the back of her throat. I think she sounds like a gremlin when she does it! I have been trying to get it on video for the past few weeks and was finally able to get a few seconds. She sometimes just growls and growls like 10 times in a row. It's kind of disturbing...

Other random updates:

• She is a very good eater and is beginning to eat more solid foods besides just baby food. Some stuff she's tried include soft bread, cheese, egg yolk, yogurt, fruit, and these cool Gerber puffs that dissolve in your mouth. I have also been making her fresh baby food (mostly fruits) a few times a week.
• Sadly she is outgrowing a lot of her 6 month clothes & shoes and is wearing some 9-12 month stuff now.
• Attie weighs just under 17 lbs, her 2 little bottom teeth are completely grown out, and she is still taking 3 naps a day on most days.
• Her hair is growing out too - long enough to finally have her first "bad hair day" where it was messy and sticking out in different directions. :)
• She is also able to hold up her bottle on her own, pull it out of her mouth for a few seconds to catch her breath, and stick it back in and continue her meal.

It might sound like no big deal, but it's really cool to see her go from being completely helpless to her current state. I'm sure I'll continue to be amazed and impressed by her for a long time to come :)
